Agile Transformation

In early 2000, Answer was amongst the early adopters of agile. Our Engage™ process (see App Development Studio) was born out of our agile knowledge and experience of delivering complex projects for customers who use a wide range of different technologies.

Today our agile practitioners, with their extensive knowledge of the different flavours of agile, can help you transform your business. Ensuring not only that the technical side is rock solid but that it also supports the ever-changing needs of the business.

Answer’s Agile Transformation Process realises that one size does not fit all in agile world. We work with our customers to understand their culture, ways of working and the constraints they currently face before proposing an agile transformation roadmap.

The one thing that might surprise you is how much you will learn about yourself as a business during the process. Suddenly, what has always seemed necessary and part of the furniture may now be considered unnecessary and redundant. This typically includes:

  • Project processes will be changed to include only elements that add value to the business e.g. some project documentation / reviews will no longer be required as they have no direct bearing on the delivery.
  • Success of projects is determined by the efficiency of delivering working functionality to the business. What else matters?
  • Organisational roles and responsibilities will change and may be combined.

Finally, truly successful agile transformation cannot happen with only a small group of individuals or just one pilot project team, the impact has to be viral. To do this we have to address the agile myths and misconceptions that arise from misunderstanding and fear of agile. We achieve this through:

  • Answer’s agile competency framework: this allows you to baseline your competencies, understand the learning that is required and continually assess your progress as agile transformation occurs.
  • Answer’s Mindswap programme: this ensures that agile knowledge cascades throughout your company.

Answer is different because they take up the challenge. There are always challenges; it is never an ideal scenario. I always need to find the 'work around' and I need a supplier that will help me do just that.
